In this episode, we talk to Urmi Hossain, a Bengali by blood and Italian by birth. She currently works in the financial services industry in Canada, where she is residing. She is a self-published author with her book: ‘Discovering your identity, a rebirth from interracial struggle’, speaker, blogger, polyglot, and mentor. We talk about growing up in multiple places in Italy with a Bengali background, how home is a feeling, feeling misplaced, the differences in cultural values from the country in which you live and those of your parents, the hospitality of Italian and Bengali food cultures, spices and pasta, and the importance of embracing cultural understanding.
